The people of Jammu & Kashmir won’t have even imagined it that banking facilities of J&K Bank would virtually collapse on no less important an event than Eid-Ul-Adha and news about it’s restoration would come from the bank management only in the late evening hours on Tuesday when almost all the markets were shut for the Eid shoppers in Kashmir markets. While it was the duty of the top brass of the bank management to ensure hassle free banking facilities to it’s customers on the eve of Eid –Ul-Adha, there was none from the bank top brass to hear the noises of the complainants against the collapse of the bank’s ATMs in Srinagar city and most of the urban and semi urban parts of Kashmir valley till the late evening hours on Tuesday. As thousands of J&K Bank customers were upset by the virtual collapse of internet banking and mpay app facilities, the managements of the J&K Bank branches also did not cooperate with the customers for facilitating hassle free physical transactions at the bank branches the way they should have cooperated. Such a huge collapse of digital banking facilities of the most trusted bank in Jammu & Kashmir on no less important an annual event than Eid Ul  Adha demands a high level probe for the purposes of punishing the guilty keeping in view the fact that if  J&K Bank’s banking facilities have collapsed this time on the eve of Eid Ul Adha, it can happen on the eve of  Muharamm tomorrow, Diwali or Holi day after tomorrow, Gurpurab or Baisakhi thereafter and many other such religious occasions. While there was absolutely no disturbance in the working of ATMs, internet banking and mpay apps of other banks including HDFC and SBI (State Bank Of India), question can be asked that why such urgent banking facilities of only one bank called “J&K Bank” collapsed and why top brass of the bank management choose to be silent over the failure of it’s digital banking system on no less important a day than Eid Ul Adha.

Unusual disturbances in the operation of the banking facilities of the J&K Bank demand an immediate attention of not only the bank management’s top brass but also of the J&K Government which exercises control over the bank management. Hope that urgent corrective measures are taken for the purposes of smoothening the operation of the banking facilities of the J&K Bank to the entire satisfaction of it’s customers both within and outside Jammu & Kashmir.

In fact the J&K Bank has remained at the centre of controversies over either recruitments or promotions of the top functionaries of the bank during last four years and consequently the operation of the banking facilities have not received the desired attention as a result of which the working of the digital banking system has been hit very badly. vUnusual disturbances in the operation of the banking facilities of the J&K Bank demand an immediate attention of not only the bank management’s top brass but also of the J&K Government which exercises control over the bank management. Hope that urgent corrective measures are taken for the purposes of smoothening the operation of the banking facilities of the J&K Bank to the entire satisfaction of it’s customers both within and outside Jammu & Kashmir.
