Moscow: The Taliban movement is not interested in neighboring countries, and there have been no facts of illegal crossing of Afghanistan’s borders to Tajikistan or Uzbekistan by militants, Zamir Kabulov, the Russian president’s special envoy for Afghanistan, said on Tuesday.
“The Taliban are engaged in their internal issues, they just take control over the territories of government forces, they are not interested in neighboring countries,” Kabulov told the Valdai Discussion Club.
According to the Russian diplomat, the Taliban militants have made no attempts to enter Tajik or Uzbek territory.
“We have no reason to doubt that they are busy with the internal agenda,” Kabulov added.
