Ganderbal: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba Saturday chaired a meeting to review the progress of field Survey of Migratory Tribal population and to discuss the status of completion of survey and midterm course corrections in light of feedback received form enumerators/supervisors.
At the outset, the CPO, who is Nodal Officer of the said survey at the district level informed that as per directions of the Tribal Affairs Department necessary training of the supervisors/enumerators was held in the district on 1st July 2021 in which all the enumerators and supervisors were directed to start survey work from 3rd of July and the same should be completed by the 10th of July 2021.
It was further informed that necessary material, logistic support and hand holding as and when required by survey teams was provided by the concerned Tehsildars.
Regarding identification of highland pastures, the CPO informed that a total 11 highland pastures were identified and 76 Behaks falling within these highland pastures were highlighted for the survey. He further informed that a total 66 enumerators were engaged from various departments followed by 29 supervisors for the said survey.
After detailed deliberations, the Nodal Officer requested all the incharge officers that reaching out to every family is important and specific recommendations for area/location wise needs shall be recorded.
The ADC urged all the Supervisors to mention specific needs/remarks /recommendations at the end of filled-up schedules so as to ensure that the very purpose of Tribal survey for the welfare migratory tribal population mostly Gujjars & Bakerwals is fulfilled.
At the end all the officers/stakeholders were sensitized that the whole exercise is to be completed by 31 July.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Irfan Giri, all Tehsildars and concerned supervisors.
