Poonch: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet, chaired a meeting of District Level Advisory Committee (DLAC) on Food safety here at DC office Conference Hall.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Vinod Kumar; PO ICDS, Dr. Mohd. Tanveer; Chief Medical Officer (Vice chairman DLC), G.A Malik, Chief Planning Officer, Madan lal, Assistant Commissioner Food safety, (Secy. DLAC), Tariq Mehmood, AD CAPD, Gen. Manager DIC, District Agriculture officer, Food safety officer Poonch, Javid Iqbal, Food Safety Officer Surankote/Mendhar as members of DLAC.
In the meeting, a detailed presentation was given by Secretary DLAC, Assistant Commissioner Food Safety, Tariq Mehmood.
CMO Poonch,(Vice Chairman DLAC) also briefed the importance of healthy & balanced diet and health hazards of adulterated food stuff.
The Deputy Commissioner held one to one interaction with each member of the Committee and directed the enforcement agencies to adhere to their roles in implementing the Food Safety Act.
The DC directed to book those involved in adulteration of food items and impose penalties under the FSSA Act.He directed to cancel the licenses of the regular offenders and seal their shops.
