Srinagar Admin’s fresh advisory in conflict with vaccination

Asking shopkeepers not to allow customers enter their business outlets without vaccination certificates by Srinagar district administration is in conflict with the ongoing vaccination process and progression . By all standards of administrative wisdom such orders can be issued only after completion of 100% vaccination in all the districts of Kashmir valley. Knowing that so for Bandipora is the only district of Jammu & Kashmir where officials have reported100% vaccination, the Srinagar district administration directing shopkeepers to restrict entries at their business outlets only to customers having vaccination certificates in hand is totally an unwanted order issued without proper application of mind and would evoke provocation instead of cooperation from both the shopkeepers and as well as the customers . Knowing that restrictions on movement of people from all other districts of Kashmir valley to markets of Srinagar city can’t be imposed before the completion of 100% vaccination in entire Kashmir province, the Srinagar district administration should not have even thought about imposing such a restriction at the business outlets in Srinagar markets. Directing shopkeepers to ask customers to produce covid negative tests in the wake of not having vaccination certificates is yet another unwanted decision being imposed on shopkeepers as government is aware about the procedures to be followed for undergoing covid tests at government run hospitals and private nursing home. Since ongoing vaccination process for the adults is likely to be vfollowed by the launch of vaccination process for children up to 18 years of age, direction for producing vaccination certificates at public places is totally unwise and impracticable. Imposing more strickest restrictions on the attendance of the customers at the retail business outlets and not on the arrivals of local crowds at the tourist hotspots like Pahalgam, Sonmarg, Gulmarg and other many such places shows  that government is imposing covid guidelines without proper review of the vaccination process in valley districts.

The present covid appropriate behaviour has to be maintained till the completion of the vaccination process for both the adults and as well as the children upto 18 years and any direction for producing the vaccination certificates at public  places is not advisable before the completion of vaccination in entire Kashmir valley.

Keeping in view the increasing movement of the local populations at the tourist  hotspots in Kashmir valley , the restrictions on crowding of local populations at the tourist hotspots have to be imposed for the furtherance of the cause of covid containment.  The present covid appropriate behaviour has to be maintained till the completion of the vaccination process for both the adults and as well as the children upto 18 years and any direction for producing the vaccination certificates at public  places is not advisable before the completion of vaccination in entire Kashmir valley. The vaccination certificates and covid negative tests have to be a pre-requisites only for inter-state travelers but not for the local populations without any rhyme and reason.
