Kashmir Markaz Adab-e-Saqafat tributes writer, novelist G N Gowhar on his 3rd anniversary

Chrari Sharif: Glowing tributes were paid to eminent poet, writer, jurist and ace novelist Gh Nabi Gowhar on his third death anniversary. The Kashmir Markaz Adab-e-Saqafat ,Chrari Sharif organised a simple but impressive function at Dak Bunglow,Chrari Sharif where prominent writers from across Jammu and Kashmir , while paying rich tributes to G. N.Gowhar presented their papers on the life of late Gowhar and his immense contribution to the Kashmiri language and literature. The function was presided by eminent writer and poet Professor. Mohd. Zaman Azurda. Whereas famed historian and ace writer Prof. Farooq Fayaz was guest of honour. Those who highlighted and recounted the significant contribution of Late Gh Nabi Gowhar to kashmiri language and literature during the on- line and off- line functions included , Prof. Farooq Fayaz, Wali Mohd Aseer Kishtwari, Dr Sohan Koul, Brij Nath Betab, Farooq Ahmad Wani,Editor Brighter Kashmir,Aamir Malik, Ab Rahim Shah Faqeer,Vilayat Zamaan, Salam Chrawni , Inayat Gul, Mushtaq Mehram, Gh. Nabi Adfar and Ali Ahsan and h Rasool Sadoori, d
The speakers, while paying glowing tribute to late Gh Nabi Gowhar, said that the literary, social and political history of Jammu and Kashmir would be incomplete without a thorough mention of Gowhar’s life and his contribution to Kashmiri language and literature. They said that Late Gh Nabi Gowhar enriched Kashmiri literature with prose in the form of some world class novels and brought kashmiri prose parallel to the world literature.His exhaustive research oriented work on the poetry of Sufi saint Hazrat Shiekh Noor-ul-Din Wali(RA) under the title ” Saheefa -e- Noor ‘ has become a a torch bearer for the research scholars.
On this occasion, this year’s Gowhar memorial award was given to young writer from Shahabad Dooru, Parvez Gulshan. The award carries a citation and a cash reward of Rs 10,000. The budding writers of Shahr-i-Alamdar ‘ Ms Saima Ashraf and Arusa Ashraf were also awarded on the occasion. Batool Fatima, daughter of late Gowhar presented vote of thanks. Gh Nabi Adfar presented welcome address. Inayat Gul, who is also Secretary of Kashmir Markaz Adab-e-Saqafat, conducted proceedings of the function in his peculiar style and professional manner.
