Jammu/ June, 17 : Police in Jammu on Thursday said that it has recovered 129 bottles of illicit liquor from Gaharota Jammu and also arrested three bootleggers in this connection.
In a statement issued on Thursday police said “In an act of alertness and prompt action, police party of Police Station Gharota led by SHO P/S Gharota Inspr. Khyati Maan Khajuria while on patrolling duty rounded up three suspects from different locations identified as Harendra Kumar S/o Ram Naresh R/o Mawai UP A/P Deharan Tehsil Bhalwal , Rakesh Kumar S/o Shakeena Ram R/o Gurah Pattan and Parveen singh S/o Devi Singh R/o Thathi”.
Stating that during search 129 bottles of illicit liquor, i.e 26 bottles of 750ml each, 103 bottles of 180 ml each, were recovered from the above named accused, police in it’s statement further said “different cases under FIR No. 54/21, FIR No 55/21 and FIR No. 56/21 all under section 48(a) Excise Act respectively were registered at P/S Gharota and accused were also arrested”, stating therein further that the overall arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial and further investigation of the case is going on.
