Kurali, Chandigarh: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) President Sunil Jakhar has stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrogance in power is devastating the country adding that people are dying but the Centre has not woken up from its slumber and now by hiking petrol and diesel prices it is breaking the backbone of common man economically.

Interacting with mediapersons at Kurali during protest against petrol and diesel hike which was pan-India , State Congress Chief said Modi regime has totally abandoned its citizens.

Former Minister Jagmohan Singh Kang was also present on the occasion.

Firstly, Centre’s grave Covid mismanagement wrecked havoc with lakhs of Indian families losing their loved ones, Jakhar said castigating Modi. And now Centre by continuously hiking prices have left the common man in lurch with nowhere to go.

Cornering the Centre over the arbitrary and illogical vaccine policy, Jakhar said,” Centre’s vaccine policy is the sum of unbearable errors of judgement on part of Modi regime. Before the second wave, its insensitive decision of exporting vaccines to foreign countries, arbitrary pricing of vaccines, the abject failure to gauge the likely need of number of jabs needed, and then totally failing to place orders in advance are grave mistakes for which innocent Indians have paid with their lives.”

Mincing no words, Jakhar said Modi regime is directly helping private companies to earn profits at the cost of our farmers and common man. During previous 13 months, rate of petrol has gone up by whopping Rs 25.72, while diesel has gone up by Rs 23.93, Jakhar pointed out. When Dr Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister the price of crude oil was 125 dollar per barrel and rate of diesel was Rs 54, and while now rate of crude in foreign market is almost half than what it was in 2014, rate of diesel is almost double, the veteran leader pointed out further.
