District Admin opens Kishtwar-Sinthan Road for medical emergencies

Jammu: District Administration Kishtwar has issued an order to open the Kishtwar-Sinthan road for medical related emergencies for movement towards Srinagar and vice versa.
An order issued in this regard stated that GM NHIDCL Kishtwar apprised that traffic on the Kishtwar- Sinthan route can be allowed to ply in one way convey only and general public at large is approaching for opening of the Kishtwar Sinthan route with regard to medical related emergencies for movement towards Srinagar and vice versa.
Overall review of the situation was conducted and subsequently after the assessment of the situation demand of general public at large and in the powers vested under section 144 of CrPC, the Deputy Commissioner/ Chairperson Disaster Management Authority Kishtwar, Ashok Kumar Sharma ordered that only the vehicles carrying the patients for medical related emergencies shall be allowed to move towards Srinagar and vice versa through Kishtwar Sinthan route.
“SSP Kishtwar shall establish proper check points for inspection of the travel movement through the said route at appropriate points. SDM Chatroo shall deploy a Magistrate on check point for compulsory sampling of the travelers. CMO Kishtwar to establish Check point for testing”, the order stated.
ADC Kishtwar shall issue permissions after recommendation from the CMO Kishtwar. No other vehicle shall be allowed to cross from the check post established in this regard.
Recovery vehicles and other equipment for any eventuality of critical places shall be deployed by GM NHIDCL. The Concerned shall also consider weather advisory on a daily basis before allowing the permitted vehicles to ply.
All advisories/ SOPs regarding mitigation of Covid-19 shall be adhered to in letter and spirit.
The Drivers driving the vehicles shall have to be experienced, familiar with the hilly road.
Timing of the movement of permitted vehicles shall be allowed from 10 AM to 04 PM only. The arrangements shall be reviewed periodically as and when the situation demands.
