Ramban/June,5 Five people were on Saturday killed in a road accident at Digdol on Jammu-Srinagar highway as one SUV vehicle while on way from Jammu to Srinagar skidded off the road and went rolling into a deep gorge
Witnesses said “one SUV vehicle while on it’s way from Jammu to Srinagar skidded off the road near Digdol on Jammu-Srinagar highway and fell into a deep gorge after the driver lost control over the vehicle”, adding that ” five people were found dead on the trouble spot”.
Confirming the deaths Ramban Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) P D Nitya said rescuers, including police, Army and local volunteers, swung into action soon after the vehicle rolled down over 500 feet from the highway into Bishlari stream”, adding that ” Five people, including a woman, were found dead on the spot and one another was rescued in a critical condition,”. The injured person has been rushed to District Hospital for treatment, SSP added.
