Adhere to Covid-19 SOPs strictly, to save precious lives: DC Shopian

Shopian: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Thursday stressed for strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs, guidelines and undertaking vaccination to save the precious lives and further contain the spread of the corona virus in the district.
The DC said this during a media briefing at Mini Secretariat Arhama here, and also added that during his visit to the town market yesterday, some people were seen without masks and were later fined also.
Vaishya said that lockdown was imposed with an aim to tackle the situation arising due to the spread of virus, but unlocking does not mean that people will take it lightly and move without wearing masks. He appealed to the people to firmly act upon the guidelines and make the usage of masks, maintain social distancing and clean hands using soap/ sanitizer properly to minimize the infection of Covid-19 pandemic.
He said that the District Administration is working round the clock and has geared up health functionaries and other concerned in fighting against the corona virus in full swing.
He also said that the people of the district have cooperated and extended their full support due to which visible decline in Covid positive cases has been witnessed so far.
The DC said that even if the positive cases are decreasing each passing day, there is still need to follow Covid appropriate behavior with more responsibility to avoid further spread of the disease.
He stressed that the left out population of the age group above 45 years of the district should get vaccinated as soon as possible to break the chain of coronavirus and added that 2nd dose of vaccination process and registration for 18 to 44 years of age be ensured sharply in the district.
The DC emphasized the people to come forward and get vaccinated to save themselves and their family and stressed on the need to desist from coming out of their homes unnecessarily which is the safest way to help break the chain of coronavirus in the district.
Sachin stated that the vaccine is a strong weapon against pandemic and in this regard vigorous door to door vaccination drive has been launched to ensure cent percent coverage of the population.
