Srinagar: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan Wednesday discussed the modalities for developing sports facilities in Shehr-i-Khaas here. He remarked that the youth of the city deserve better facilities to hone their skills in different sports disciplines.

On the occasion the Advisor implied that the youth of Shehr-i-khaas have an immense potential that needs to be honed and chiselled well. He declared that they deserve better facilities and opportunities to showcase it.

Advisor Khan further remarked that the youth of this area are naturally talented and only requires handholding to improve on their sporting skills. He said that if provided with requisite infrastructure they would be better equipped than their counterparts elsewhere. He said that they should be provided all the facilities that would fulfil their sports playing requirements for times to come.

Khan directed both the Sports promoting bodies to explore all the possibilities of raising sports infrastructure in this suburb. He exhilarated upon them to create best facilities for the youth there. He asked them to look into the games like football, hockey etc that are popular among the youth of this area.

The Advisor urged upon them to create a sports complex for Shehr-i-Khaas that has amenities for playing several games. He asked them to create these facilities somewhere in the interiors of Srinagar city which is easily accessible to all the sports lovers.

The heads of both the bodies assured the Advisor that they would look for the feasible spot in collaboration with civil society and district administration and would raise the necessary infrastructure once they are provided with the same.
