Srinagar: World no Tobacco Day was celebrated all over the world. In this connection GHSS Gund Hassi Bhat organised an online awareness programme on the theme “COMMIT TO QUIT” in which all the staff members of the institution participated along with a good numbers of students.
Director School Education Kashmir Dr. Tasadduq Hussain Mir presided over the function, while as Joint Director School Education, Samagra, Kashmir, Shams-ud-din Bhat, Chief Education Officer Srinagar, Manzoor Ahmad Kumar, and Renowned Consultant Dr Nazir Mushtaq attended the Webinar , who expressed their views regarding the ill effects of Smoking. Further, Dr Suraiya Ameen Basu, Vice Principal of the institution presented the keynote and gave the historical background of the No Smoking Day. Dr. Dilshada Tabassum, Dr. Sheezan Rasool and Dr. Jahangir khan also gave speeches on ill-impact of tobacco on human respiratory system, Tobacco as killer and Tobacco & its effects on youth respectively.
At the end of the function Principal GHSS Gund Hassi Bhat, Mir Shabbir Ahmad, presented the vote of thanks to all the esteemed guests, Lecturer’s and students, who took part in the webinar and also expressed gratitude to media fraternity especially Regional News Unit, Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar and All India Radio Srinagar for the good coverage of programme.
