Director Agriculture Jammu reviews arrangements for smooth supply of Fertilizers during Kharif 2021

Jammu: Director of Agriculture Production & FW, Jammu, K. K. Sharma, who is also the controller of fertilizers for J & K UT, Monday reviewed the arrangements for smooth supply of Fertilizers during Kharif 2021, here at a meeting.
The Director reviewed the prepositioning of fertilizers in Jammu and Kashmir and their month wise supply during the Kharif 2021 in both divisions of Jammu & Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director (Extension), Shahid Iqbal Sheikh; Deputy Director Agriculture (Central), R. K. Hitaishi; Potato Development Officer, Yadvinder Singh; Assistant Director Law Enforcement, Roshan Lal Bhagat; Coordinator DBT J&K, Akhil Vaid; UT Head IFFCO, Bahadur Ram; UT Head National Fertilizers Ltd. (NFL), Prem Lal and UT Head Chambal Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd (CFCL), Kanwar Jeet Singh.
The Director stressed on to ensure the smooth and timely supply of fertilizer to the farmers of both divisions of Jammu & Kashmir. He further said that fertilizer is the main input for agricultural and horticultural crops and any lacuna from any quarters in timely stocking/supply of the fertilizer in Jammu & Kashmir is unacceptable.
The Director, AP&FW, Jammu further exhorted the fertilizer supplying companies and officers of the Agriculture Department to strengthen the fertilizer distribution network including cooperative marketing Societies (CMS).
Regarding fertilizer storage issue, he stressed for infrastructure development including construction of godowns under Atam Nirbhar Bharat project.
Taking note of fertilizer stocks held in POS machines, he directed all Chief Agriculture officers to mobilize field functionaries for immediate liquidation of all stocks held in PoS machines.
The Director also reviewed the fertilizer supply plan for the month of June and July.
The meeting was informed that IFFCO will supply 2600 M Tons; NFL 5200 M Tons and CCFL 2600 M Tons of Urea in the month of June, besides 2300 M Tons of DAP and 200 M Tons on MOP will also be supplied during the same period.
