255 CCCs established at Panchayat level, 18-45 targeted vaccination drive going on smoothly: DC Ang

Anantnag: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla Friday briefed about the Covid Mitigation Measures taken and achievements made so far to combat the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic in the district.
While giving a brief regarding the Covid-19 scenario, the DC said presently there are 3960 active cases and Covid kits containing oximeters and essential medicines are being timely distributed among positive persons.
The DC informed that 255 five (05) bedded Covid Care Centres (CCCs) at Panchayat level have been established so far and the rest are under process.
Dr. Singla also informed that the vaccination drives for both above 45 persons and 18 to 45 high risk and vulnerable groups are going smoothly and service providers, specially abled persons, widows, transporters, traders, etc in the 18-45 years high risk and vulnerable groups are being vaccinated.
He appealed the eligible persons to get vaccinated at their nearest vaccination site adding the same would help curb the pandemic faster.
Regarding recovery rate, the DC said that 9803 patients have recovered so far and the present recovery rate is above seventy (70). Meanwhile, positivity rate and death rate have also declined to around 10 percent and 1.12 percent respectively besides aggressive testing is being followed with above 2400 tests done per day, he added.
The DC hailed the efforts of all line departments for Covid Mitigation and thanked the stakeholders including PRI’s, ULBs, Auqaf members, youth and volunteers for supporting administration to mitigate the prevailing situation. He urged people to stick to the precautionary measures besides strictly following the SOPs and guidelines adding the collective efforts will help to overcome the situation.
