Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir continued to remain under strict curfew for the 26th straight day on Monday in order to prevent the deadly virus from spreading. Moreover, police said that 184 persons have been arrested and Rs 1,41,840 has been realized as fine for norm violation in Kashmir.
Most of the roads in the Valley wear deserted look throughout the day as the police and paramilitary troopers were deployed on the roads, who enforced strict curfew since the wee hours of this morning.
The police and paramilitary troopers deployed on the roads had erected concertina wires on the roads, thus halting the vehicular as well as the pedestrians’ movement.
All the shops and business establishments barring emergency services remained closed throughout the day in Srinagar and other districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
However, witnesses said that the vehicular movement was witnessed at some places in Srinagar and other districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Notably, the Corona Curfew was imposed by the government on April 29 evening in order to prevent the deadly virus from spreading. The government has extended the lockdown across Jammu and Kashmir till May 31, 2021.
