Jammu: The two Pediatricians of Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) Hospital, Jammu Dr. Pallavi Sharma and Dr. Sachit Sharma have thanked the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha for reaching out to them through monthly Radio Talk show ‘Awaam ki Awaaz’, recognizing their efforts in fighting the pandemic COVID-19 besides asking suggestions from them in containing the virus.
Last week, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha dedicated monthly Radio talk show to corona warriors who are at the forefront in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic across Jammu & Kashmir and appreciated their efforts in dealing with the situation while putting their lives at risk.
During the programme, the LG had shared some of the inspiring stories of good Samaritans, and saluted their spirit and dedication towards human service.

The Lieutenant Governor also enquired about the flow of child patients into the hospital and asked for suggestions regarding upgradation of medical infrastructure there.
Dr. Pallavi Sharma who is Lecturer Pediatrics at SMGS, Hospital said that it was heartening to see that LG Manoj Sinha contacted me through Awaam ki Awaaz and asked me about suggestions for containment of virus. “Administration is very concerned about the well being of patients and is involved from doctors level, nurses level together in fighting this virus’, Dr. Pallavi says. She added that the efforts of the current administration show that their priority is health and treatment of patients.
Another Pediatrician, Dr. Sachit Sharma said that it is inspiring to see Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha personally monitoring the situation and the frontline work force is being regularly asked for suggestions and advice for dealing with the situation. “LG’s Administration has initiated several steps in dealing with the situation like specialized Covid dedicated hospitals, wards as well as teams have been established to deal with this situation”, Dr. Sachit says. He adds that during Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s recent visit to hospital, he himself directed operationalisation of new oxygen plant in the hospital, establishment of Covid dedicated wards and upgradation of other medical infrastructure recently.
Dr. Pallavi Sharma who is a frontline warrior and has constantly been dealing with the child covid patients, appeals public to have close watch on their children, keep constant watch on symptoms like loose stools, red eyes, consistent fever etc among their children and report to nearest health care facility if any of these persists.
Dr. Pallavi further remarks that the Administration is putting their best efforts in dealing with the situation but it is our duty that we should maintain Covid appropriate behavior and follow the necessary guidelines so as to contain the spread of virus.
Like Dr. Pallavi, Dr. Sachit Sharma also maintains that the prime way of keeping oneself safe from this virus is to maintain Covid appropriate behavior and follow necessary SOPs and guidelines. He further appealed to the public that they can use e-sanjeevni services for consultation from specialized doctors besides other helplines can also be used to take advice on health related issues.
Dr. Sachit remarks that it is the responsibility of citizens to follow necessary guidelines regarding Covid and sought cooperation from the people by following all Covid appropriate behavior and follow SOPs strictly so that the war against the Corona Virus can be won and things would return to normal again.
