DC Rajouri reviews covid control measures in Sunderbani, Nowshera

Rajouri: To review the Covid containment measures and health care facilities being made available to the patients amid pandemic, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan Sunday conducted an extensive tour of Sunderbani and Nowshera subdivisions.
BDC Chairperson Nowshera, Bodh Raj; ADC Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal; Tehsildar Nowshera and Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Department, Mushtaq Ahmed accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the visit.
While inquiring about the Covid care facilities at SDH Nowshera, the Health Department officers informed the DC there are 78 oxygen cylinders and 05 ventilators in the sub District hospital to meet the emergency need.
At vaccination centre GMS Qasbatain, the concerned Officer informed that as many as 100 vaccination doses were received out of which 06 persons were vaccinated Sunday.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned officers and officials of the Health Department to take all possible measures to contain the COVID19 infection and make added efforts to provide all the required health care services to the public so that they don’t face any inconvenience.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Health Department to put in extra efforts to achieve cent vaccination of age appropriate persons at the earliest.
Interacting with the locals, the Deputy Commissioner appealed them to help the District Administration in mitigating the pandemic in the district by following all Covid SOPs in letter and spirit and by taking vaccination. He also assured to maintain the supply of the essentials across the district for the convenience of the general public.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also inaugurated newly constructed Manpur-Bajnowa water supply scheme completed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.14 lakh. The scheme would benefit nearly 80 per cent of the population of three villages including Maanpur, Bajnowa and Breri.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the filtration plant in Sunderbani town where he was apprised that the machinery and intake well of the scheme was damaged last year due to floods and the scheme has been restored recently.
The plant has a supply capacity of 20000 gallons per day which is sufficient to cater to the drinking water supply-demand of the public in the town.
The Deputy Commissioner, while interacting with the locals, said that the District Administration is committed to ensuring proper drinking water facility to all the households of the district and several measures are underway in this regard. He also said that all the households of the district would be provided with functional tap water connection under Jal Jeevan Mission.
The Deputy Commissioner also said that necessary instructions have been passed on to the concerned officers for providing maximum benefits to the common masses amid pandemic under various welfare schemes being implemented by their departments in the district.
