Jammu: Police in Jammu on Sunday said that it has recued 19 bovine animals at Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli Jammu.
In a statement issued on Sunday police said “continuing it’s drive against bovine smuggling, Police rescued 19 bovine animals at different locations”, adding that “three vehicles bearing Registration No. JK22A/8788, JK14E/8642, and JK02CJ 7152 have also been seized”.
Stating that case FIR No.217/2021, FIR No. 218/2021 under relevant section of law got registered in police station Nagrota and FIR No.81/2021 U/S 188 IPC,11 PCA ACT was registered in P/S Jhajjar Kotli and accused was also arrested arrested, police in it’s statement further said “the accused arrested have been identified as Mohd Rafiq S/O Gh. Mohd R/o Rakh jarog Ramban and Tariq Ahmed S/o Mohd Sharief R/O Shopain Kellar, both arrested by PS Nagrota”.
Police in the concluding para of it’s statement said “the arrest and recoveries have been made by SHO P/S Nagrota Inspr. Mohd Showkat and SHO P/S Jhajjar Kotli Inspr”, adding that “Devinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota, Parupkar singh”.
Police in it’s statement also said that further investigation of the cases is going on, reiterating therein that District Police Jammu is seeking support from the people to share information about bovine smuggling with police for timely intervention for the cause.
