Baramulla traders demands to fix business hours in district Baramulla

Baramulla : A delegation of Traders Federation Baramulla under the leadership of it’s President Mohammad Ashraf Ganai and General secretary Er. Tariq Ahmed Mughloo on Saturday called on Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bupinder Kumar.
The Federation delegation apprised DC Baramulla about the situation in Baramulla due to continuing lockdown under the garb of Covid-19 health protocols. The federation delegation apprised the members about the hardships they are facing due to long drawn lockdowns one after the other during last three years. The delegation also briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the sufferings of the people associated with trading community and also the shopkeepers.
Deputy Commissioner told the delegation that lockdown was an unavoidable compulsion due to the increasing trend in the positive case and frequency of the deaths of covid-19 patient in the district and the government did not want the situation to go out of control. The federation appealed DC Baramulla that shopkeepers be allowed to open their businesses from 6.00 a.mt 10 a.m as has been done in Jammu district. Deputy Commission assured the delegation that he will discuss the issue with his officers and decision will be taken in the better interest of the health safety of the people in the district. Later the delegation also held a meeting with SSP Baramulla Rayees Ahmad Bhat during which several issues pertaining to the town were discussed especially the situation arising due to continued lockdown in the district .SSP also assured the delegation immediate resolution of their grievances.
