Div Com (K) inspects Covid-19 measures, arrangements at G’bal

G’bal: The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole Wednesday visited district Ganderbal to take first hand appraisal of measures and arrangements put in place by the district administration for containment of spread of Covid-19 in the district.
During the visit, Div Com inspected District Hospital, District Covid Control Room and Administrative Quarantine Centre (AQC) established at Sainik School Manasbal.
Among others, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna, SSP Ganderbal, Suhail Munawar Mir, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, Dy. Director Health Services Kashmir, CMO Ganderbal, MS, District Hospital and other concerned accompanied the Div Com.
At District Hospital, the Div Com inspected Covid wards, XRAY and USG room, Oxygen Generation Plant and emergency ward where he enquired about the facilities being provided to the patients.
The CMO Ganderbal informed the Div Com that 142 oxygen supported beds are established in three Covid wards and currently 33 patients are admitted.
While reviewing the measures being taken to curb the pandemic in the district, the Div Com urged upon the concerned to put in place added efforts to provide the best possible treatment to the COVID patients and take all necessary steps to counter the pandemic in the district.
The Div Com emphasized the Medical Superintendent to maintain proper roster of doctors and paramedics and conduct daily visits of Covid wards to ensure proper health care facilities to the patients.
Meanwhile, the Div Com inspected the 1000 LPM Oxygen Plant at DH and was informed that Oxygen Audit Committee is framed which included Nodal officer, Technical expert, Mechanical and Oxygen Plant Operator. He stressed for smooth functioning of Oxygen generation plant and proper maintenance of Oxygen cylinders in the district. He directed concerned to install CCTVs at the oxygen generation plant for better surveillance.
While visiting to District Control Room, established at CMO Office, the Div Com reviewed its functioning and enquired about home isolation monitoring and redressal of grievances. He instructed concerned to ensure proper and close monitoring of positive patients in home isolation for their better treatment and recovery.
Later, the Div Com visited the Administrative Quarantine Facility at Sainik School Manasbal and inspected the facilities made available there. The DC informed the Div Com that 4 locations are identified for Covid Care Centers with bed capacity of 700 which include Physical College Gadoora, Sainik School Manasbal, JNV Hatbara and Youth Hospital Sonamarg.
The Div Com suggest that patients who are in home isolation especially who have comorbidity and are not able to follow SOPs properly at home due to any reason shall make use of Administrative Quarantine Facility where all health care facilities are available adding that it can prove instrumental in bringing down the positivity rate.
