Bed Capacity, Oxygen supply augmented in Health institutions across the district: DC B’pora

Bandipora:The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Tuesday said that district administration is working on a war footing basis to break the chain of transmission of coronavirus infection in the district and necessary measures are being taken in this regard.
While sharing details with the media, the DC said that the administration is making all efforts to augment healthcare services to ensure that the patients, especially Covid-19 affected, are treated well.
Dr Owais said adequate measures have been taken for strengthening the system to fight the war against Covid-19 and in this regard bed capacity has been augmented at various health facilities and covid care centers in the district besides making High Flow Oxygen Plant functional at Covid Level-III Hospital.
He said sufficient quantity of oxygen supply has been made available by commissioning a medical oxygen plant at DH Bandipora to further strengthen the oxygen support system besides having ample stock of bulk oxygen cylinders.
While sharing data of the COVID-19 patients, Dr Owais said there are 1075 active covid positive cases in the district as on date, out of which 954 patients are under home isolation while 121 severe symptomatic patients are under Hospital Isolation and due care of them is being taken by the medical staff.
He said 48 patients out of 121 patients need oxygen therapy and are being provided the same as per the medical advice.
He also said that a rigorous vaccination Drive continues simultaneously in the district and so far 83927 persons have been vaccinated including 70 percent of the population above 45 years.
Dr Owais said there are 13 containment zones having a population of 5854 out of which 5023 persons have been tested so far. He said strict adherence to SOPs is being followed in these containment Zones.
The DC said that the administration is making all out efforts to ensure strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs like wearing of masks, hand hygiene and maintenance of social distancing besides strict implementation of covid lockdown. He said Rs 3.25 lakh has been realised as fine while 9 FIRs have been registered during the 2nd wave of the COVID19 pandemic. He said 16 shops have also been sealed for violating guidelines.
He also informed that District Administration is going to start Community Triaging for effective Covid-19 management and in this regard 337 Community teams have been formed which will help in decentralisation and providing better supervision of Covid-19 management at zone-level.
In addition, the DDMA has set up 24/7 dedicated Helpline Covid-19 War Control Room in order to facilitate the general public regarding Covid-19 related queries and to ensure systematic redressal of such issues that can be contacted on 01957225322 besides three Control Rooms at sub division level.
