Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal on Tuesday said that it has arrested four gamblers and seized 14,670 stake money from them on spot.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday police said “ a police party from Police Post Shadipora under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal raided a gambling site at Langi Bagh Wakura following an input about gambling activities and arrested four gamblers and identified them as Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Bashir Ahmad Kambay, Mohd Yousuf Hajam and Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh all residents of Wakura Ganderbal”.
Stating that officers seized stake money of ₹14,670/- and playing cards from the gamblers, police in it’s statement said that the accused have been have been shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody.
Saying that a case vide FIR No. 73/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been initiated, police in the concluded para of it’s above referred statement appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
