Jammu: Police in Jammu on Monday said that it has launched a door to door initiative for delivery of essential services to people amid ongoing wave of covid pandemic.
In a statement issued on Monday police said “In the view of the current scenario of COVID restrictions and to reach out to the people who are aged, pregnant/ nursing/ lactating women and other specially abled persons, a unique initiative has been taken by SP North Mohita Sharma, under the able supervision of SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli to provide door step delivery of essential services which include medicines, groceries etc”.
Stating that civil society members and NGOs have been roped in for reaching out to the people in distress, police in it’s statement further said “ Prominent among them are Samvedna society, Nirbhay Bharat Foundation, Serve human First and Pahal society which have worked for the betterment of society for many years”.
Police in it’s statement also said that areas where the essential services shall be provided include the jurisdiction of P/S Pacca Danga, P/S Nowabad, P/S Janipur, P/S City, P/S Peermitha, P/S Bakshi Nagar and P/S Bus stand.
“People in distress can contact the below mentioned numbers for delivery of essentials in the above mentioned areas whereby delivery man shall hand over the essentials after getting paid for the stuff ordered”, reads the police statement .

Police in it’s statement has also stressed that in no case fake and frivolous calls shall be made so as to maintain the genuineness of the services to be rendered.
