Jammu/ May,15 : In one of its kind, two doctors from Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday e-launched India’s first ever Magazine for cancer patients. Jammu – based Radiation Oncologist Dr Vikas Roshan and Kashmir- based General Physician Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo launched “ONCO-ILLUMINATI” magazine under an umbrella initiative ONCOFACTS and the first of its edition was released today.
“The main purpose of the magazine is to create mass awareness about cancer among people in general and to address the queries from cancer patients in particular more so during the current Covid-19 pandemic. Besides the Magazine shall serve as a source of communication between doctors, cancer patients and cancer survivors”, said Dr Vikas Roshan, the Editor-in-Chief of the Magazine and Director ONCOFACTS.
“The patients who have succcesfully fought the dreaded disease like cancer can share their experiences with the Magazine for other patients so that they can cope up with the disease better. Besides the people can share motivational stories, quotes, photographs, poems and other stuff related to cancer awareness and consolation of cancer patients with the Magazine”, said Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo, the Executive Editor of the Magazine and Co-ordinator ONCOFACTS.
The two doctors have sought support from the medical fraternity and general public to make this venture a great success for revolutionizing the lives of cancer patients.
