Srinagar: Police in Srinagar on Tuesday said that it has arrested 156 people for covid19 lockdown violation besides registering 86 and penalising 672 violators during last 24 hours across Kashmir.
A police statement issued on Tuesday said “Implementing the Covid-19 guidelines/SOPs/restrictions strictly in Kashmir Police arrested 156 persons, lodged 86 FIRs and also realized fine to the tune of ₹104,350/- from 672 people for violating the guidelines/rules throughout Kashmir valley” adding that “44 vehicles were also seized in Budgam, Ganderbal and Shopian for violating guidelines/restrictions”.
Stating that special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued across Kashmir to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/ guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic, police in the concluding para of it’s statement appealed people to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/ protocols for the safety of the people, reiterating therein that special drive shall remain continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures.
