Two notorious bike lifters arrested at Janipur Jammu, 7 bikes & 15 iron plates recovered: Police

Jammu: Police in Jammu on Friday said that it has arrested two bike lifters at Janipur in Jammu city and recovered seven bikes and 15 iron plates from their possession

A police statement issued on Friday said “ an information was received at P/S Janipur that by one person Bhawani Singh S/o Tilak Raj R/o Chennai Rajouri A/P Durga Nagar Bantlab that his pulsor bike bearing Registration No. JK11B 7239 which was parked outside medical shop near aap shambhu morh Janipur was stolen by some unknown thieves”.

Stating a case FIR No. 51/2021 U/s 379 IPC was registered at P/S Janipur and investigation started, police in it’s statement said “ dedicated police teams of P/S Janipur under the supervision of SDPO City West Sh. Rahul Nagar were constituted and team led by SHO P/S Janipur Inspr. Nayat Ali assisted by PSI Anil Kumar after strenuous efforts and with the help of technical assistance rounded up suspects identified as Umar Mir S/O Ghulam Hassan R/O Puldoda Doda A/P Old Masjid Road Laxmi Puram Chinore Jammu , Ankush Harkar S/O Anil Harkar R/O Durga Nagar, Bantalab”.
Police in it’s statement further said that during sustained questioning, accused confessed their involvement in the above case and on their disclosure 15 iron plates and stolen bikes were recovered from them. The details of the recovered bikes as per the police statement are as under:
1 Jk12-7965 pulsar bike black colour
2 JK11B 7239 Pulsar 150 bike Colour Blue & Black stolen in Case FIR 51/2021
3. Jk02AC 5607 pulasr150 bike Colour red
4. JK02BA 3237 Honda bike Colour black
5. Jk02AT 5092 (Activa Scooty) colour white
6. JK02 W 3079 Pulsar 150 Colour red
7. Splendor bike Engine no. MAJ0ERGHEA7894 Chasis No. MB2HA10CGGHF05253 Colour black
“Further investigation of the case is going on to ascertain their involvement in any other crime’, reads the concluding para of the police statement.
