Sopore: Police in Sopore said on Thursday that it has arrested three timber smugglers and seized illicit timber.
A police statement issued on Thursday said “acting on specific information about timber smuggling in village Balham Rafiabad, a police party of Police Station Panzla raided the spot and recovered 120 feet illicit timber which was dumped by smugglers, stating therein further that the police party also arrested three accused persons involved in smuggling.
Stating that case FIR number 34/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Panzla and investigation into the matter has been initiated, police in the concluding para of it’s statement reiterated it’s ommitment that efforts are on to keep our society free of crime and resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
