Prizes of 32nd Police Public Mela distributed among Jammu zone winners, DGP congrats winners

Srinagar: The Prize distribution function for winners of the 32nd Police Public Mela 2020 was on Saturday held at Police Headquarters Srinagar. The function was presided over by DGP Dilbag Singh. All COVID protocols were followed in letter and spirit during the function.
R.R Swain ADGP CID J&K, A. K. Choudhary ADGP Armed J&K, S. J. M. Gillani ADGP (Coord) PHQ, Abdul Ghani Mir ADGP (Hqrs.) PHQ, Dr S. D. Singh Jamwal ADGP Security J&K, T. Namgyal ADGP Traffic J&K, Mukesh Singh, IGP, Jammu Zone, MK Sinha, IGP Crime J&K, Danesh Rana, IPS IGP Armed, Jammu, Garib Das, IGP (Hqrs.) PHQ, Alok Kumar, IGP (CIV) PHQ, Mushtaq Ahmed DPT J&K, were present at the presentation ceremony and distributed prizes among the winners.
The DGP speaking on the occasion congratulated the winners and said that the prizes for Kashmir zone winners will be distributed separately after PHQ resumes its functioning at Srinagar. He said that due to the COVID-19 we could not organize Mela last year and hoped for improvement in the COVID-19 situation so that Mela is organized adding that it has gained the significance of a great event in Jammu and Kashmir. He thanked the media persons for covering the function.
With regard to the present situation the DGP appealed the people to follow the COVID- protocol strictly. He said the all the necessary measures will be taken to contain the 2nd wave of COVID in Jammu and Kashmir and added that necessary help will be provided to the people in need as has been done in the past.
Speaking to the media, the DGP said that J&K Police alongwith other forces is working dedicatedly for ensuring peace in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that situation on borders is largely peaceful and added that any attempt to disrupt peace will dealt with effectively. He said the all the necessary arrangements are in place to ensure that the COVID SOPs are followed strictly. He informed that the vaccination of officers and Jawans of Jammu and Kashmir Police is in progress.
