Mirwaiz, Geelani , Ors house detained in Srinagar

Srinagar: Chairmen of both the factions of the Hurriyat Conference (HC) Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq and a number of other leaders remained under house arrest.
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yaseen Malik was today arrest from his Maisuma house after he gave slip to police and addressed a congregation at Charar-e-Sharief in central Kashmir district of Badgam yesterday.
Restrictions on Mirwaiz, who was put under house arrest early yesterday morning, continued even today, a spokesman of the moderate HC said.
He was not allowed to offer Fajr (morning) prayers yesterday in a mosque as large number of security forces and state police have been deployed outside his Nigeen house. Mirwaiz also could not offer Jamaat-ul-Vida, last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, in a mosque, he alleged and said no prayers could also be offered in historic Jamia Masjid, where curfew was imposed.
Meanwhile, HC announced that Eid-ul-Fitr would be offered at Eidgah ground, where Mirwaiz will address the congregation. However, incase of rain Eid prayers would be held in historic Jamia Masjid, stronghold of Mirwaiz.
Mr Geelani and other leaders, including Mohammad Ashraf Sehrayee and Mohammad Ashraf Laya also remained under house arrest, a spokesman of the amalgam Aiyaz Abar said.
He said he too remained under house arrest for the past one week.
