55 gms heroin (chitta) recovered at Bahu Fort Jammu, 2 drug peddlers arrested :Police

Jammu/April,16: Police in Jammu on Friday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers and recovered from them 55 hms of heroin (chitta) in Bahu Fort area.
A police statement issued on Friday said “a police team of P/S Bahu Fort led by SHO P/S Bahu Fort Inspr Deepak Pathania assisted by Sl Mohd Iqbal while performing naka duty near JDA parking ground, Rail Head Complex rounded up two suspects namely Irshad Ahmed S/O Ghulam Ahmed R/O Damhal Hanjipura, Kulgam and Tariq Ahmed S/O Abdul Rehman R/O Damhal Hanjipura, Kulgam, who acted suspiciously and tried to run away on seeing police”, adding that “55 gms of heroin (chitta) was recovered from them”.
Stating that  case FIR No. 120/21 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at P/S Bahu Fort and both the accused were arrested arrested, police in the above referred statement said “the overall arrests and recovery were made by SDPO City East  Bikram Kumar and further investigation of the case is going on”.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police said that Jammu Police is striving hard and taking every possible step to make people especially youth aware to eradicate drug menace and appealed people of the area to come forward and share information about drug peddling or consumption on 9086100100 or 100 with Police for the cause, assuring the informers that their identity will be kept confidential.
