Hakeem hailed SC verdict on writ petition against holly Quran

Srinagar: Chairman People’s Democratic Front ( PDF ) Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has hailed Supreme Court decision about dismissal of Wasim Rizvi’s writ petition against holly Quran . Supreme Court has termed the petition as ” absolutely frivolous’.
In a statement issued on Monday Hakeem while hailing Supreme Court decision to dismiss the written petition of Wasim Rizvi against holly Quran , said that the petition was highly blasphemous aimed at to hurt religious sentiments of the Muslim Ummah. He said that the Supreme Court has rightly observed that the writ petition of Wasim Rizvi against holly Quran was ” absolutely frivolous ” . He has also hailed imposition of a fine of Rs 50000 on petitioner Waseem Rizvi for hurting religious sentiments of Muslim community. He said Islam is a religion of peace , based on the tenants of equity, equality, forgiveness and tolerance He said Islam preaches coexistence, harmony and brotherhood.
PDF Chairman said intention of Wasim Rizvi’s petition was based on petty vested interests and aimed at to disturb public tranquillity and religious harmony. He said Rizvi has overtly or covered tried to inistigate feelings of enmity, hatred and ill-will between different religious communities . He has demanded stern action under law against Wasim Rizvi for hurting religious sentiments of Muslim Ummah.
