DGP sanctions over Rs 40 lakh as welfare & ex-gratia relief

Jammu: To assist and ease up the financial distress of the NoKs of martyred Police personnel/SPO, the Director General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 5.40 lakh as welfare relief in favour NoKs of policemen killed in action/deceased Police personnel and retired Police personnel. He has sanctioned rupees 35 lakh ex-gratia relief for NoKs of martyred SPOs.
According to an order issued from Police Headquarters Jammu Rs 25000 each has been sanctioned in favour of NoKs of martyrs HC Mohd. Ashraf, Ct Mohd. Rafiq, Ct. Mudasir Ahmad, Ct. Farooq Ahmad, SPO Adil Bhat & rupees 20000 has been sanctioned in favour of NoK of martyr SgCt Mohd. Ayoub. The amount has been sanctioned out of Police Pariwar Fund to ease up their financial distress.
The DGP has also sanctioned welfare relief of rupees 3.95 lakh in favour of eighteen Reitred/NoKs of deceased Police personnel for the purpose of self treatment or treatment of their dependant or for the marriage of their son/daughter. The welfare relief sanctioned ranges from minimum of rupees five thousand to the maximum of rupees fifty thousand. The amount has been sanctioned out of Retired Policemen Welfare Fund.
Meanwhile the DGP has also sanctioned ex-gratia relief of rupees 17.50 lakh each in favour of two SPOs Mohd Assadullah Bhat and Javed Iqbal Khandey who were killed in action in consequence of due performance of their official duties.
Police Headquarters during the current year has sanctioned welfare relief of over rupees 14 lakh in favour of NoKs of martyred/deceased Police personnel as well to the retired Police personnel in its endeavour to ease up their financial distress.
