Nagrota: National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana Monday sought focused development of Nagrota Assembly Constituency with priority on completing the languishing projects for one or the other reason.

“The on-going projects have to be completed in stipulated time-frame by expediting the pace of work and timely release of the allocated funds”, Mr Rana said during his interaction with the inhabitants at Tarah, adding that unnecessary delays generally cause cost escalation and dampen the developmental aspirations of the people. Responding to the concerns expressed by the locals about stoppage of the work on 19 meter span steel garder bridge on Nandani Tarah road despite availability of funds, Rana said he will take up the issue with the concerned. The bridge is imperative for upgrading the connectivity of the area with peripheral villages and hence needs hassle free execution, he said.

Rana assured the deputations that he will continue to pursue the issues on account of various development schemes with the concerned agencies vigorously and ensure that these are maintained properly and completed in a time bound manner.

Rana expressed dismay over the overall developmental inertia across Jammu and Kashmir in recent years, especially the schemes languishing due to abject neglect and financial constraints. This has adversely led to the sufferings of the people in the wake of defunct utility services, erratic power and drinking water supply and dilapidated road network. The scenario in rural and hilly areas is precautions, which calls for immediate attention, he said while underscoring the need for improving and increasing the rural infrastructure. In fact, developmental schemes have to be related with the aspirations of the people and needs of their needs. This should form the core of the developmental strategy and guide policy planners while formulating projects and schemes, he suggested.

Interacting with the various other delegations of the people, the Provincial President called for fast track recruitment process in view of despondency gripping the educated unemployed. The concerns of youth can be addressed by undertaking fast track recruitment to fill up the whopping number of vacancies, he said while sharing the anxiety of the aspirants over burgeoning unemployment. The Provincial President stressed on preserving unity and tranquility, hoping that the people will further strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, which is imperative for harmonious growth of the society. Among others, Rana was accompanied by DDC Councillor, Dansal, Shameem Begum, BDC Chairperson Dansal Reena Thappa and BDC Chairman Nagrota Ch Rehmat Ali.
