Agri Minister reviews Shab-e-Qadar, Jumat-ul-Vida, Eid-ul-Fitr arrangements

Srinagar: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, Thursday chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for auspicious occasions of Shab-e-Qadar, Juma-tul-vida and Eid-ul-fitr in Budgam district.

Legislator Saif-u-Din Bhat, Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mohammad Harun Malik, SSP Budgam Tejinder Sigh, ADC Budgam, besides senior officers of PDD, PHE, Health, Transport, Municipality and other departments attended the review meeting.

On the occasion, the Minister exhorted upon the concerned officers to ensure all the basic facilities’ to the people of the district and undertake cleanliness and sanitation measures in and around the worship places of Chrar-e-Sharief, Pakharpora and Makhama and other places, where a large number of devotees are expected to throng for prayers.

He directed the concerned to keep make arrangements for potable drinking water, adequate electric supply, and ambulances equipped with life-saving drugs and doctors at main congregation places.

Hanjura also asked the officers to make foolproof security arrangements to ensure smooth and peaceful celebration of these holy occasions. He further directed the officials to make arrangements for smooth regulation of traffic and designate parking spots at various places to avoid traffic ja

During the meeting, the Minister was briefed that additional one kg sugar is being provided to each ration card holder of the district on the eve of the holy occasions, besides Animal Husbandry Department shall provide chickens through mobile vans on fair price rates at various locations in the district. He was informed that different market checking squads have been constituted to keep a check on profiteering, hoarding, and black marketing.

The Minister stressed on intensifying market checking to ensure essentials are sold to customers at government approved rates only.
