Weekly Block Diwas: DC Kishtwar listens to public grievances at Thakrai

Kishtwar :Weekly block Diwas proceedings were Wednesday held at designated locations across Kishtwar District where teams of district administration listened to the issues of the public and provided various services to the locals.
Around 47 domicile, 25 income, 16 RBA, 18 Caste and 6 character certificates, besides 2 mutations were issued across the district.
Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma presided over the grievances redress camp at block Thakrai in presence of BDC Chairperson, Kishori Lal Shan; SSP Kishtwar Dr. Harmeet Singh Mehta, Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishore Singh Katoch and other district Officer, Sarpanchs, Panchs and a large number of locals.
The BDC Chairperson, PRI members and locals projected varied demands, which included Tehsil status for Thakrai, for it being the oldest Niabat of the District Kishtwar, holding a special camp for issuing PMJAY SEHAT Card, particularly for those who were left out in 2011 census, improving road conditions in the block, employment for youths in power projects, release of pending back to Village and SBM Toilets, adequate staff in Keshwan Higher Secondary School and Health Sub Centre, speeding up the electrification work in Keshwan, posting of Niab Tehsildar, Completion of black top work on Kuria-Keshwan road, rationalisation of forest divisions and bringing Keshwan area in Kishtwar forest division, replacement of wooden electric poles with iron poles, immediate restoration Water Supply Schemes, relaxation of 90 day employment certificate norm for renewal of labour cards, Clearance of pendency under SMAS scheme of Social welfare department, simplification of procedure to cover left out beneficiaries under PMJAY SEHAT Scheme, opening of dispensary between Kurna-Bhatwara, release of pending RDD payments from 2017-18 onwards in Pakalan Panchayat, rationalisation of subdivision Chatroo and sanctioning of PHC for Thakrai, etc.
After giving a patient hearing to the grievances and demands of public, the DC redressed several grievances on the spot by directing the concerned district officers for same.
Responding to other demands, he said that work on maximum roads has been resumed after action was taken against the contractors delaying the work .The Shilaka Company, which has been assigned the work of electrification, has started work and soon all areas shall be electrified, he added.
He further informed that there is a provision of Rs 336 crore for water supply schemes under Jal Jivan Mission and XEn PHE has been directed to ensure the entire area get water connectivity under the scheme. He also asked BDO Thakrai to conduct job card verification on priority basis.
The DC also assured the participants that a Panchayat wise schedule for SEHAT camps will be notified shortly.
On the demand of public, the DC announced that two days shall be notified for camp of Niab tehsildar at Thakrai, who has additional charge of the Naibat.
DGM, JKPCC was exhorted upon to start blacktoping work on Kuria-Keshwan road on immediate basis.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the stalls established by various departments.
Power tillers, social health cards besides 8 RBA Certificates, 10 Caste Certificates,12 Domicile Certificate and 10 income certificates were also distributed by DC among the beneficiaries.
A Kisan Mela was also organised by agriculture department on the occasion. Farmers who displayed their farm produce were also felicitated on the occasion.
At block Trigam block diwas programme was marked with the distribution of 5 Domicile certificates, 8 caste certificates, 1 RBA Certificate and 03 Income certificates besides redress of a number of grievances under the chairmanship of ACR, Dr Amir Hussain.
Similar Programme was also held at the block headquarter Paddar where the grievances of the people were listened by SDM Varunjeet Singh Charak and most of them were redressed on the spot.
DDC member Paddar, Hari Krishan Chauhan; Tehsildar, Major Singh and BDO, G M Affaqi, besides other officials of various departments were present on the occasion. Around 20 Domicile Certificates, 8 RBA certificates, 6 character certificate, 2 mutations and 12 income certificates were issued in favour of beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, similar programme was held at block headquarter Inderwal under the overall supervision of SDM Chatroo Inderjeet Singh Parihar. Tehsildar Suman Sharma presided over the programme and 10 domicile Certificates were issued in favour of beneficiaries besides various grievances were redressed on spot.
