Srinagar: Welcoming release of prominent Hurriyat leader and religious head Miwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq, Chairman People’s Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen has sought release of all other political detenues to pave way for restoration of political process and confidence building measures in Jammu and Kashmir . He has also urged for restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and holding of Assembly elections at the earliest.
Talking to deputations during his three days hectic tour to Khansahib constituency, Hakeem while welcoming release of Hurriyat leader Molvi Omar Farooq, said that the step would help to restore political activities and open up doors for dialogue to settle issues amicably. He urged the Center and LG Manoj Sinha to release all other political detenues to pave way for revival of political process in Jammu and Kashmir. He said restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, as promised by the Prime Minister, Narinder Modi and Home Minister in the Parliament was key to bring peace in the trouble torn Jammu and Kashmir. He said center should hold assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir as early as possible because people feel helpless to get their grievances redressed due to prevailing deep disconnect between bureaucracy and the public. He said assembly elections would provide viable platform and representation to the people at their doorsteps to get their problems solved .
During his visit, Hakeem listened to the grievances of local populations. Responding to the demands of the people, Hakeem urged district administration Budgam to undertake a repairs of roads on a large scale which have been rendered dilapidated and unserviceable due to heavy snow fall and stagnant waters during the winters. He has also urged for erecting fallen electric poles and power transmission lines in various area of Khansahib constituency. PDF Chairman asked the district administration especially CMO to ensure availability of Covid vaccine to elderly people at thier doorsteps. He has also urged for maintaining proper check on the prices of essential commodities in the market.
