Srinagar/March, 4: Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Action Forum(EJAF) on Wednesday voiced  serious concerns and apprehensions over  SRO 324 on retirement of employees at the age of 48 years with 22 years of service and termed the government move “unjustified” .

In a statement issued on Wednesday Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Action Forum (EJAF) an amalgam of major state govt and public sector employees joint action committees comprising of maximum trade unions of Jammu and Kashmir expressed serious concerns, reservations and apprehensions over  possible misuse of recent amendments to the already existing provisions of  CSR for retirement of employees who have attained 22 years of service or 48 years of age.

Addressing a hurriedly called press conference in this connection with  the joint presidium comprising of Sushil Sudan , Mohd Rafique Rather, Suresh sharma, Aijaz Ahmad Khan and Ashish Sharma expressed strong  concerns over rising fears and apprehensions panicking  employees on recent amendments. The leaders appealed Lieutenant Governor and Chief Secretary take on board the representatives of the employees and clear apprehensions and fears panicking employees for restoring the confidence of employees to prompt them to work with dedication without fear of victimization at the hands of their superiors.

Calling upon the Jammu and Kashmir Government to address the genuine and legitimate concerns and apprehensions of the lakhs of non gazetted employees of Jammu and Kashmir the Leadership expressed the  hope that good sense shall prevail and govt will immediately show magnanimity and will call the representatives for threadbare discussion on the issue. They also said that in case the appeal of Employees Joint Action Forum does not evoke an encouraging response from the Government  , the forum shall be left with no option but to hold protests simultaneously at the press clubs in both  Jammu and Srinagar in near future. They also questioned the rationale behind recent circular of govt that sought details of unions/ associations. The EJAF leaders said that instead better course would have been to register all genuine unions working for the welfare of the employees and notably the cases for registration of many genuine employee unions are pending disposal  in civil secretariat.
The leaders said circulars are creating confusion among the employees and generating animosities between them and the  govt , which should have been avoided,  Many senior leaders present on the occasion include  Subhash Verma , K.C. Dubey,Rajesh Jamwal Anchal Bakshi,Mrignyani Salathia, Gurdip singh, Darshan Lal, Sheikh Aijaz, ishtiyaq Baig, Javid Akhoon, Rehmatullah khan ,Zia.Ul.Haq,Younis Matoo, Sanjay kumar, Omesh Raina and others.
