Srinagar: In yet another heartwarming example of Kashmiriyat, Muslims in a village in north Kashmir district of Baramulla helped perform the last rites of a Kashmiri Pandit woman.
According to details, as soon as the news of the death of Rani Kaul, wife of Moti Lal Kaul, spread in village Tarhama in Kunzar, members of Muslim community on Saturday came in large numbers to their house to condole the death despite rain and snow.
However, her funeral was delayed as her relatives had to come from Delhi. On Sunday, the local Muslims helped the family to perform the last rites of the elderly woman. Kauls are the only pundits living in the village.
This is not the first time that Muslims in the valley have helped perform the last rites of Kashmiri Pandits, who stayed in Kashmir.
