Srinagar: Parliamentarian delegation visiting Kashmir next month to honour the ‘excellent people’ during a mega award event here, will also interact with common people on 14 March, this year.
Sources said Member Parliaments, who will honour the people during a mega award event, will arrive on March 14, a day before of the scheduled mega award event.
They said that the members of the delegation are free to meet “anyone and interact with common people at the place they like and choose.”
“The Parliamentarian Delegation will arrive at Srinagar airport at 10:30 am,” said an official, privy to the development.
Sources informed that on the same day, the members of delegation would meet various public representatives including trade, social and political representatives.
“The delegation would interact with individuals and groups. They will prepare and a report and would submit it before Prime Minister on their return to Delhi,” said sources.
On 15 March, this year, in the event titled “Real Hero Awards” the Members of Parliament (MPs) will present awards to youth icons, media persons, social activists, medicos, para-medicals, sports persons, young politicians and others on 15 March at SKICC Srinagar.
Sources said that a panel of experts are scrutinizing the nominations including the names of officials from police and civil administration.
“There are more than 7200 nominations as of 26 February evening which are being scrutinized. The link to send nominations will close on 28 February,” the official said.
In the event titled “Real Hero Awards” the Members of Parliament (MPs) will present awards to youth icons, media persons, social activists, medicos, para-medicals, sports persons, young politicians and others on 15 March at SKICC Srinagar.
One of the members of the committee scrutinizing the nominations list, wishing anonymity, said that newspapers, news gathering agencies are also in the list in the category of print and electronic media.
Journalists having exceptional service in reporting of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, civic issues, rural and urban reporting are also in the list. Sources informed that the event is being organized under the banner of South Asia Peace Movement
