Jammu: Director General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned scholarships of over Rs 2.50 lakh in favour of 38 wards of martyred/deceased Police personnel for the Academic session 2019-2020.
A police statement issued on Saturday said “ Vide two different orders the Police Headquarters has sanctioned over Rs 2.50 lakh for 38 wards of slain and deceased Police personnel for the Academic session 2019-2020 who are reading in different classes or perusing different degrees”, adding that “Rs 2400 has been sanctioned in favour of those wards who are perusing Primary education and rupees 6000 has been sanctioned in favour of those wards who perusing Secondary education”.
Stating that while as Rs 10000 and Rs12000 has been sanctioned in favour of those wards who are perusing higher education, police in it’s above referred statement said “ the amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund. Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships, rewards, welfare loan/ relief for police personnel, wards of martyred and serving/retired Police personnel under different schemes to boost their morale”.
