Jammu: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh sanctioned welfare relief in favour of retired police personnel and NoKs of police personnel killed in the line of the duty and the deceased one’s also
A police statement issued on Friday said “as per the two different PHQ order numbers, welfare relief of Rs.6,95,000/- has been sanctioned in favour of 36 personnel” , adding that “the welfare relief has been sanctioned in favour of 23 retired, NoKs of deceased Police personnel and thirteen NoKs of Police personnel killed in the line of duty for the purpose of self/dependents treatment, marriage of their daughters and also to assist financially those who are in distress”.
Stating that the welfare relief ranges from rupees 15,000 to rupees 50,000, Police in it’s statement also said that the amount has been sanctioned out of Retired Policemen Welfare Fund and Police Pariwar Fund.
“ DGP also sanctions special welfare relief of rupees 20 lakh each in favour of HC Fayaz Ahmad, HC Rajinder Singh and SgCt Mohd Majid who expired due to illness or natural death while in service”, adding that “Police Chief also sanctioned special relief of rupees five lakh each in favour of five SPOs namely Sharief-ul-Hassan, Sishan Kumar, Daya Krishan, Dewan Chand and Zahoor Ahmad Najar, who expired during their engagement in the department and the amount has been given out of Contributory Police Welfare Fund”, reads the statement.
In the concluding para of the above referred state police also said that welfare relief has been sanctioned in favour of J&K Police personnel to meet the expenses of different natures including self-treatment, treatment of dependants, education of wards, self-marriage and marriage of wards.
