Kulgam: To facilitate proper counseling and placement opportunities for the students who are about to complete their graduation, a one day orientation cum counseling programme was Thursday organised at Government Degree College (GDC) Kulgam.
The programme was organised by Training and Placement Cell, Debates and Seminar Committee of GDC Kulgam in collaboration with the District Employment and Counseling Centre (DE&CC) Kulgam.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Showkat Ajaz Bhat was the Chief Guest on the occasion and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather was the Guest of Honor.
The DDC in his speech impressed upon the students to follow the Covid-19 protocol strictly so that the college administration faces no difficulties in conducting the classwork in offline mode.
He also highlighted the importance of Career Counseling in the present scenario.
Principal of the College, Prof. A R Najar impressed upon the students to develop core competences so that they shall be successful in choosing a good career after completing their graduation.
Training and Placement Officer, Professor Sajad Ahmad Shah, District Counseling Officer Shazlia Qureshi and other experts highlighted the importance of counseling.
On the occasion District Nodal officer Dr. Imtiyaz Ahmad Mantoo and Employment Officer, Rozy Jan explained the different schemes for young entrepreneurs. The event was attended by faculty, staff and scores of students of the college.
