3 HM militant associates arrested in Awantipora, IED material recovered: Police

Awantipora: Police in Awantipora have arrested three militant associates linked with proscribed terror outfit HM and recovered IED material from their possession.
A police statement issued on Wednesday said “ based on specific input regarding movement of militants , Awantipora Police along with 42RR and 180BN CRPF launched a joint operation in Batagund and Dadsara villages of Tral and arrested three militant associates linked with proscribed militant outfit Hizb Ul Majahideen (HM identified as Shafat Ahmad Sofi son of Muzaffar Ahmad Sofi resident of Batagund, Majid Mohammad Bhat son of late Gh. Mohammad Bhat and Umer Rashid Wani son of Abdul Rashid Wani both residents of Dadsara”.
Police in it’s statement also said that as per As per official records, the detained militants were involved in providing shelter, logistics and transportation of arms/ammunition to the active HM militants in Tral and Awantipora area, stating therein that “on their disclosure, incriminating materials including 8 electric detonator, 7 anti-mechanism switches, 3 pressure/relay mechanism switches, 1 improvised switch and 1 anti-mine wireless antenna were recovered from the residential house of one of the arrested terrorist associate in village Dadsara”.
Saying that all the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation, police in the concluding para of it’s statement further said “a case FIR No. 09/2021 under relevant section of law stands registered in Police Station Tral. Further investigation is in progress”.
