A police officer said that “a team rushed to the spot and recovered the body.” “The boy was identified as Shahid Farooq, 12, son of Farooq Ahmad Malik, a resident of Soibugh, Budgam,” he said.
He said that family members had lodged a missing report. “However, today morning the body of the boy was found by the locals near his house in Soibugh, Budgam,” the officer said adding that an FIR has been registered and investigations have been started on fast-track basis.
However, the family members of the deceased have demanded thorough investigation into the boy’s death, adding that “he has been hanged to death and it was a murder.”
“We already searched the place where our son was founded hanging. This is murder and needs to be probed. We demand a thorough probe into our son’s death,” a family member demanded while speaking to KNO.
