Ang: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Anshul Garg Tuesday flagged off a group of 09 students from Sports Stadium Anantnag to participate in basic and intermediate levels of Snow Skiing Course 2021 at Gulmarg. The course is being organized by Directorate of Youth Services and Sports Jammu and Kashmir for a period of 15 days.
The DDC was informed that this was the third group from Anantnag district this season and all necessary facilities for the students are being provided by the concerned department. Speaking on the occasion, Garg said that the LGs administration is fully committed to encouraging and developing sports potential among the youth.
The DC said it is heartening that the youth in Kashmir always participate in sports activities enthusiastically. He also informed that district administration in collaboration with YSS, Tourism and PDA will try to work out modalities to organise Winter Sports including skiing and other events in Pahalgam too. District Youth Services & Sports Officer Anantnag, Zonal officers and field functionaries of the department besides parents of the students were also present on the occasion.
