Srinagar: Acting tough against the drug dealings, Police in Budgam have arrested three notorious drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police statement issued on Friday said “Officers at a checkpoint established at Chandpora intercepted a vehicle Hyundai Venue bearing registered number JK01L-4445 with three persons on board identified as Mohammad Ashraf Yatoo resident of Sholipora Budgam, Sameer Ahmed Bhat resident of New Colony Agrikalan Magam and Asif Nazir resident of Archendrahama Magam”, adding that “during checking, officers recovered 5gms of Heroin and 120 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon from their possession after which they arrested and shifted to Police Station Budgam where they remain in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized”.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 24/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and further investigation into the matter has been initiated, police in it’s statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, stating therein that “actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace”.
