Srinagar: Srinagar police solved hit and run case and arrested the accused involved in the commission of crime.
A police statement issued on Saturday said “On 17th December last year 0 Police Station Shergarhi received information that an unknown Santro Vehicle has hit a person near Solina who has been shifted to SMHS hospital in critical condition”.
Stating that a case FIR No. 78/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Shergarhi and investigation into the matter was initiated, the police in it’s statement said “ the injured person later succumbed to his injuries on 23rd December last year”.
Saying that during the course of investigation, CCTV footage was obtained and analysed which leads to the involvement of a suspicious white colour Santro vehicle with Delhi based registration number, the police in it’s statement said “search for the vehicle was started and wide coverage was also given on all media platforms”.
Police in it’s statement also said that with the aid of technical evidences, human inputs and strenuous efforts, the investigating team zeroed in on one accused person identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Assadullah resident of Hardashoora A/P Faizan Colony Nayak Bagh Nowgam. Saying that on questioning, the accused person confessed his involvement in the commission of crime, the police in it’s statement said “the accused has been arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody”.
Police in the concluding para of the statement said “the vehicle used in the commission of the crime has also been seized”.
