DC Shopian pays surprise visit to distt hospital, reviews snow clearance, availability of essentials

Shopian: In order to take stock of health care facilities being provided to patients, Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Shrikant Balasaab Suse along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sheikh Abdul Aziz, Tehsildar Shopian Bilal Ahmad paid a surprise visit to district hospital Shopian.
Apart from inspecting various wards and sections of the hospital including emergency, operation theatre, ECG unit, X-ray, gynae, post operation ward, labs etc. He enquired about the availability of medicines, diagnostics and other facilities available in the hospital.
While interacting with the patients and their attendants, DC enquired about their wellbeing and the facilities provided to them.
During the visit, DC took a review of all scenario of district hospital which includes quality healthcare, emergency services, critical care, trauma management, intensive care units, referrals, sanitation, blood bank, non-communicable diseases, power auditing, implementation of Ayushman Bharat and other government sponsored schemes.
Medical superintendent Dr. Mohammad Ismail informed the DC about the innovative measures taken by the hospital administration , public grievances and redressal system , color coded bedsheets, code yellow and code blue , biomedical waste management etc. as per guidelines . He also apprised the DC regarding the best practice models adopted by the district hospital.
Deputy Commissioner enjoined upon the entire medical, paramedical staff to serve the patients with utmost dedication and sincerity so that patients be made to feel comfortable while receiving treatment. He also reiterated that district administration is committed to provide requisite quality healthcare facilities to the people.
He directed the hospital administration to maintain complete hygiene in and around the hospital. He impressed upon the hospital management to ensure proper heating arrangements in the hospital.
Later DC visited various routes of the district and took the stock of snow clearance and restoration of essential services. The DC has been informed by the concerned that all the main roads have been cleared including Shopian-Pulwama, Shopian-Keller, Shopian-Bijbehara, Shopian-Hermein Kulgam by the MED and interior roads connecting large regions were cleared by R&B and municipal committee Shopian teams. With regard to power and water supply in the affected areas of the district, both have been restored. Regarding various essential commodities including rice, LPG, petrol, diesel etc. the concerned informed the DC that all the commodities stocked well in advance in the far flung and remote areas so that people living in such areas may not face any inconvenience.
People appreciated the efforts of the district administration for providing quality healthcare and other facilities to the public and thanked deputy commissioner for his visit to the hospital.
While briefing he said that we all are available 24×7 for the masses of the district during harsh winter.
