Srinagar/Jan,14: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday organized Webinar on newly launched Departmental Vigilance Officers Portal. The webinar was inaugurated by Anand Jain the Director Anti Corruption Bureau and was attended by about 100 DVOs from various departments across Jammu & Kashmir.
According to a statement issued by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday the DVO Portal was launched by Lieutenant Governor on 7th of January, 2021. The Portal, according to the statement, is developed as a communication channel between ACB and Departmental Vigilance Officers (DVOs) posted in different departments. “As per GAD circular No. 12 of 2003, dated 26-05-2003, various departments/ PSUs were asked to nominated DVOs for internal vigilance”, the statement reads, adding that “DVOs, generally being field officers can quickly make ground verifications as they have knowledge about their colleagues and departmental functioning saying therein that they have also access to the records which helps them in ascertaining the factual position quickly”.
The ACB in it’s statement further said that in certain cases the complaints are related to ongoing works, current recruitments’, payments yet to be made against contracts etc. and also observed that by referring these matters to DVOs violations/ shortcomings can immediately rectified and loss to the state exchequer can be prevented.
“A threadbare discussion was held on the various aspects of working of portal. Various queries of the participants were replied. A presentation on DVOs and demonstration on the working of the portal was also given to the DVOs” said the ACB in the concluding para of it’s above referred statement.
